Plumbers Local 1 - NYC
Plumbers Local Union #1 provides Direct Entry for Veterans
The NYC Plumbers start two classes per year. March and September. A limited number of positions will be available to Veterans and prior and current Military service. Candidates should contact the NYH2H office at 212.647.0700 x3 to add your name to the Plumbers list. The next available class is September 2026. Contact to office now to put your name on the list as space is limited.
Requirements
Candidates must be able to physically complete the work of a plumber. This includes working at heights, in confined spaces, lifting and carrying heavy items, etc.
Candidates must be able to successfully complete academic studies related to the apprenticeship.
Candidates must be able to provide a dd214 showing Honorable Discharge or proof of current military service; high school or college transcripts showing math/algebra passing grade.
Candidates will need to pass drug screening, which is a hair follicle test. Positive result for any drugs, including marijuana, will result in a fail.
