The Lansing Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee has been in the educational business for over 60 years. We have been providing training for the members of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local union 665 at Lansing Community College since 1957, the year LCC opened their doors. Do you aspire to become a licensed Journeyman Electrician or Telecommunications Technician? Then the LEJATC is the right place for you! We have been in the educational business for over 60 years and have trained over 1,000 apprentices. The LEJATC prepares apprentices to become highly skilled electrical workers having highly productive careers at little to no cost for this training.


We train apprentices in the following fields:



  • Inside Wireman (Commercial/Industrial) Electrician

  • Sound & Communications Technician 


Requirements

If you are interested in completing an application with this apprenticeship you will need to fill out the online application when it becomes available. The requirements at this time include possessing:

  • Valid drivers license
  • An additional official form of identification such as a birth certificate, passport or a social security card.
  • GED, high school diploma or college degree. You must have your educational institution provide us with an official stamped transcript from high school, college and/or university.
  • A summary of your work history is required. You may submit with your application any resumes and/or letters of recommendation.

You will have thirty days to get the necessary documentation back to our office. You do not have to have any electrical experience to be selected into our program.

Once the application has been completed, reviewed and verified that you meet the minimum qualifications, we will contact you by mail to take our aptitude test. This consists of basic English comprehension and algebra skills. Only if you pass the aptitude test will the LEJATC committee members conduct an oral interview. After the interview, you will then be placed on an eligibility list for a period of two years.
