Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices
Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices perform work in new construction jobsites as well as existing facilities performing installation, inspection, testing and maintenance in a wide range of fire protection systems. Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices must be able to work in many different types of job duties and functions under strenuous conditions.
The job of Sprinkler Fitter or Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice can be physcialy demanding at times and will require work to be performed at high elevations or in confined spaces. Sprinkler Fitters work in a large variety of job sites from new open construction sites to existing facilites and require them to work with other people. Each job site has its own challenges and requires problem solving and quick thinking. Some fire protection systems are highly technical and operate at high pressures requiring an attention to detail and safety.
Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices are required to attend classes as part of thier apprenticeship program. Classes are at night from 5-9 one day a week.
Requirements
Applicants MUST meet the following requirements before filling out an application form.
1. APPLICANTS must have proof of legal residency. Bring Birth Certificate, current alien I. D. or U.S. passport.
2. APPLICANTS must be eighteen (18) years or older at time of application. Bring Birth Certificate or Baptismal
Record or California driver’s license.
3. APPLICANT must have a valid driver’s license.
4. APPLICANT must be a high School Graduate or equivalent.
Bring one of the following:
a) High School Diploma
b) G. E. D. Report- grade average must be forty- five (45) or better over five (5) subjects with NO one
(1) subject of 40 or less.
c) High School Proficiency test.
