Job Summary and Qualifications
The Diagnostic Imaging Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and image-guided invasive procedures within Interventional Radiology (IR) and as needed in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab).
This role supports physicians during procedures, administers moderate sedation, performs patient assessments, initiates vascular access, and ensures safe patient monitoring throughout all phases of care. The Diagnostic Imaging Nurse collaborates with radiologists, cardiologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant patient care across Imaging and procedural services. Care is served to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Diagnostic Imaging services include invasive and non-invasive procedures performed in coordination with Cath Lab personnel to ensure appropriate patient care and procedural support.
The Diagnostic Imaging Nurse works in close collaboration with the Imaging Resource Coordinator – RN and serves as a backup in this role to support patient flow, care coordination, and operational efficiency across Imaging and procedural services.

What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate or Bachelor’s degree required; BSN preferred) or eNCL.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia – required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required. • Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) – required.
- Moderate Sedation competency – required (or obtained within defined timeframe).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience in one or more of the following: o Critical Care (ICU) o Emergency Department o Interventional Radiology o Cardiac Cath Lab or procedural setting
- Experience with moderate sedation and invasive procedures preferred.
