Ironworker Apprenticeship


Iron Workers Local 172 was chartered on June 7, 1915 in Columbus, Ohio Capital City. Since its founding, members of Iron Workers Local 172 have erected the signature structures of the city's skyline. They have built the iconic centers of commerce, competition and entertainment; including historic Ohio Stadium and St. John Arena. They have constructed the infrastructure that made Columbus one of the America's most populous and attractive metropolitan centers.

Starting wages is $19.96 plus health benefits and pension

Ironworkers Local GI Bill approved BAH as an E-5 mean you can collect your GI Bill while you are an apprentice.

Must work at least 120 hours per month and attend Training at the Union Training Center in order to get BAH.

Months 1-6: $1,428 per month


Months 7-12: $1,142 per month

Months 13 through 18 $857per month

Months 19 through 24 $571per month



Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age


High School Diploma or GED


Veterans should submit DD-214


Applicants must live within Iron Workers 172 jurisdiction


Valid driver's license


Pass a mechanical aptitude test administered by the Iron Workers 172 JATC Training Program
