Electrical Construction Apprentice

The apprenticeship is a 5 year program, consists of 8,000 hours on-the-job training, 720 hours paid related instruction, and 200 hours of unpaid related instruction. Upon completion of the apprenticeship and passing the state journeyman's electrical exam would then be classified as a journeyman electrician.


An apprentice electrician, works on a construction site learning their craft and taking direction from their foreman, journeyman, and superior apprentices. You will be doing electrical construction work and develop the skills needed to be a qualified licensed journeyman electrician. Plan, bend, and install conduit racks for electrical systems and componets, pull wire, and terminate devices as skill and knowledge progress through out apprenticeship.




Requirements

Applicants for apprenticeship must be 18 years of age at the time they accept, must be a high school graduate or have general equivalency diploma, have one full year of high school Alegebra, or higher, with a "C" or better, attain the established norms on the NJATC Aptitude Test (will be scheduled when applying), be physically able to perform work with or without resonable accomodations, must have valid drivers license to get to school and work on a timely and consistant basis, and anywhere within the Local's jurisdiction for work.
