Electrical Apprenticeship for IBEW local 873 is accepting applications

We were chartered in Kokomo,Indiana on January 9th, 1919 with just 12 founding members and have since grown to over 350 active members today. We represent and service Clinton, Grant, Howard, Miami, Tipton, and Wabash counties in North Central Indiana.

Requirements

Applicant must have one year minimum High School Algebra or equivalent, with a passing grade.

Applicant must be 17 years old to apply, and 18 to be accepted.

STEP 1 (must be submitted within 30 days from the date of your application to qualify for Step II).

Submit your High School Diploma or GED.

In regards to the Armed forces, applicants are required to furnish a copy of the DD214 received upon discharge.

Official Transcripts of your High School grades (the school should email to mkjatc@ibew873.com, fax directly to 765-868-8267, or seal in an envelope for

hand delivery to us to be official). GED must show grade evaluation and you must include any high school transcripts you may have acquired. You may

submit additional schooling, college or trade school transcripts (official/sent directly to us from the school).

STEP II

As prescribed by the JATC, you qualify for interview using the Electrical Trade’s Aptitude Test developed and validated by the American Institutes for Re-

search. This aptitude test must be taken and will be scheduled by this office.

Interviews: qualified applicants are interviewed

THE TOP CANDIDATES AFTER INTERVIEWS:

STEP III - Pass a substance abuse screening (must receive a negative result).

STEP IV - Pass a physical exam, stating that the applicant is capable of manual labor and is in good health.

STEP V - Pass a math review test.

STEP VI – Pass a Background Check

The selection of apprentices into this program is based on qualifications and oral interview. All applicants will be afforded equal opportunity under the commit-
