(Bilingual - Spanish) Administrative Assistant

The Team You Will Be Joining
You will be supporting a vital state oversight division dedicated to preventing, detecting, and investigating fraud, waste, and abuse to safeguard the integrity of publicly funded health and human services programs across Texas.
 
Major Duties
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and personnel; manage a multi-line telephone system and oversee the central operations mailbox with high professionalism and discretion.
  • Assist with the internal procurement process by submitting purchase requests for cost-pool items, gathering necessary justifications, ensuring data accuracy, and meeting strict operational timelines.
  • Coordinate facility needs by submitting maintenance work orders, requesting surplus items, maintaining copy room inventory, and safely escorting vendors and contractors through secure areas.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, securely handle financial items (checks, money orders, etc.), conduct research, execute records reviews, and keep leadership consistently informed.
 
What are we looking for?
  • Absolute fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of office practices, administrative procedures, and the ability to operate standard electronic office equipment.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable managing multi-line phone systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to handle difficult calls calmly, listen actively, and build pleasant working relationships.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, interpret policies, work autonomously under moderate supervision, and lift boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
 
Exciting Opportunity Details
  • Rate: $29.50/hour
  • Length of Engagement: July 20, 2026 – December 31, 2026
  • Days/Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Location: Austin, TX
