Apprentice Ironworker Local 808

Ironworkers Local Union 808 Joint Apprenticeship Training Is A Four (4) Year Training Program Designed To Produce Skilled Mechanics In Numbers Which Will Adequately Supply The Industry's Needs.




  • Birth Certificate to prove you are at least 18 years old.



►Social Security Card (we will also accept the document from the Social Security office that you have requested a new card).


►Valid Driver’s License. 


►Two Letters of recommendation from previous employers, school counselors, teachers or Ironworkers that are sponsoring you. 


►You must be physically capable of performing the work. You will be required to lift & carry heavy objects, walk over rough surfaces, climb ladders and stairs, pull, bend, kneel & reach. 


►You must be comfortable working at extreme heights, long hours and able to work in extreme heat, cold, muddy and/or dirty conditions if necessary. 


►You will be required to pass a drug tests upon acceptance to the program and submit to random testing throughout your career.

Ironworkers Local Union 808 Joint Apprenticeship program is accredited by:  The Hillsborough County Public School System and the State of Florida Bureau of Job Training.

Thank you for taking an interest in our Apprenticeship Program, applications and interviews are only held in person.

If you are interested in applying come to our Union hall which is located in: 200 E Landstreet Rd, Orlando FL 32824.

You MUST have the following documents with you when you show up for the interview. No applications will be accepted without all documentation:

  • Birth Certificate ( if available)
  • Valid Driver license/ Valid Photo ID
  • 2 Letters of recommendation ( can be from anybody but your family, so a friend, co-worker, boss, etc.)
  • Social Security Card (signed) (we will also accept the document from the Social Security office that you have requested a new card if lost).
  • DD214 If discharged from the military
  • OSHA 10 (IN CONSTRUCTION)  in order to begin work but not required to apply:  https://www.careersafeonline.com/courses/osha-10-hour/construction
